The Virtues of Prostrating to Allah Alone

Understanding Virtue through the Prophetic Teachings (Lesson Nineteen): In this lesson, Shaykh Faraz discusses the virtues of prostrating to the One alone worthy of worship. Rabi`a ibn Ka`b al-Aslami (Allah be pleased with him) said that he would sleep by the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) and then give him water for his ritual ablutions (wudu’) and needs. He said to me, “Ask.” I said, “I ask you for your close company in Paradise.” He said, “Anything else?” I said, “This is what I want.” He replied, “So assist me against yourself with much prostration.” [Muslim (489), Abu Dawud (1320), Nasa’i (1139)]
